Tesla is Annual 10-K Report by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission A document Monday night confirms that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating the automaker’s controversial driver-assistance features, amid a number of outstanding federal investigations into the company.
In the section detailing “Specific Research and Other Matters,” the 10-K is briefly described. Tesla is being subpoenaed by the SEC Following CEO Elon Musk’s tweet about taking the company private in 2018. In February 2022, that the SEC was investigating both Musk and his brother for possible insider trading;
“Separately, the company has received DOJ requests for documentation related to Tesla’s Autopilot and FSD features,” Tesla wrote.
This news shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to Tesla watchers. In October, Justice Department prosecutors Both Washington and San Francisco were investigating whether Tesla misled investors and customers by making unsubstantiated claims about its driver-assistance capabilities. Tesla has also been the subject of multiple federal investigations beyond SEC and DoJ issues.
