The driver faces driving-related charges after officers responded to a single car crash on St. George’s Avenue earlier this morning.
Responding officers tried to obtain a breath sample from 33-year-old Christopher Brown at the scene, but he refused, said a news release from Sault Ste. Mary Police Department.

On January 31, 2023, Patrol Service officers charged 33-year-old Christopher Brown with performing surgery on a disabled person.
Around 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a single vehicle crash on St. George’s Avenue. Upon arrival, officers saw a northbound vehicle in the westbound lane with damage to the front of the vehicle. After speaking with the driver, who was later identified as the suspect, officers developed grounds to believe that alcohol had impaired his ability to drive a motor vehicle.
The defendant was arrested. Officers tried to get the defendant to provide a breath sample to an approved device, but the defendant did not provide the sample.
The defendant has been charged with:
• Handicapped operation – alcohol and/or drugs
• refusal to comply with requests;
Defendant was released on citation and is scheduled to appear in court on March 27, 2023.
