On Wednesday morning, three people picked the wrong cabin to break in, startling police who were investigating a string of recent break-ins.

The RCMP received reports relating to 12 separate hut break-ins in Grand Falls, Windsor on Monday evening and early Tuesday morning.

At least two huts were attacked twice during the same period.

Police said a snowplow, lawn mower and lawn mower were stolen along with a riding lawnmower.

Officers placed themselves inside one of the huts that had been previously broken into, and at 2:30 on Wednesday morning, three people inside were confronted by waiting police.

Two of the three men, 51-year-old Gary Ogden and 31-year-old Gregory Snow, were arrested after a short foot chase and the third managed to escape. It is believed that he was put in a car.

Ogden faces one count of trespassing and Snow is charged with trespassing and possession of burglary tools. Both were released to appear at a later date.

The search continues for the third member of the group. Anyone with information should contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
