A portion of the Trans-Canada Highway in northern Nova Scotia was closed to traffic on Tuesday afternoon after a propane truck veered off the road at Kobekeido Pass.
The RCMP tweeted that the four-lane highway was closed in both directions, with traffic being diverted to Route 4, a secondary road that runs parallel to the main highway at exits 7 and 11. rice field.
RCMP Cpl. Guillaume Tremblay said the road was closed as a precaution to make it easier to transport equipment to trucks lying in the ditch.
Tremblay said there were no propane leaks and no estimate for when the highway would reopen.
It was snowing at the time of the crash, and Tremblay said many roads in the state were slippery.
