Toronto cop charged with impaired driving

A Toronto police officer was charged with drivability after he collided with a dump truck on Highway 400 earlier this week.

Ontario Police said two vehicles collided on the northbound lane of the highway near Teston Road shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

OPP said the driver of the passenger car smashed into the back of the dump truck.

He suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention.

CP24 is Const. 29-year-old Jason Boag has been charged with driving impairment and refusing to use a breathalyzer in connection with the incident.

Boag is a nine-year veteran with the Organized Crime Control Service, according to Toronto police. Police said he was suspended on pay and the matter is now being referred to professional standards.

Boag is currently scheduled to appear in court on March 9.
