A worker at the Come By Chance Refinery details the devastating effects caused by the death of a worker on site in early September’s gunfire.

Perry Feltham, a field worker and vice-president of the local steel workers union 9316, spoke at a labor federation convention in St. John’s about workers who died on the job.

Due to an ongoing investigation, Feltham was unable to learn the details of what happened at the refinery on September 2nd and what led to the incident. However, he explains that he was at work that day and is talking to worker Sean Peddle, who is lying on the ground. The man later died from his injuries while in the hospital.

Feltham has seen Peddle’s wife many times since the accident.

He describes the pain left for his two young sons-in-law after Peddle’s death.

He says the two boys no longer have a stepfather to guide them through life.
