A Chatham man, who has recovered from serious injuries sustained in Tuesday’s Queen’s Line crash, is finding love at one of Chatham’s most popular music venues.
The Fortress Tavern on Grand Avenue in Chatham is now accepting donations to popular band Face4Radio’s Jesse Verleye.
Verleye is recovering in hospital and CK News Today learned that he had several fractures, including a sternum, ribs, ankle and hip, as a result of the head-on collision. Additionally, a source said Burley’s heart was being monitored on Tuesday night due to a severe chest injury. A Windsor man in another car was killed.
Owner Robin Lucio told CK News Today that although this bar doesn’t do that often, Jesse is a man to stand up for and deserves help. He said he has donated his time to many charities, including The Festival of Giving.
“We can’t make it better and we can’t help him heal.” My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last April.Face4Radio, Chasers, Big Shiny Tunes has benefited him, and if we can return the favor, so be it.”
Lucio says it’s time to show Burleigh some love, and hopes medical bills and other expenses will be one less thing he and his family have to worry about.
“Face4Radio played at our bar at least 3-4 times a year. This year and last year they were the New Year’s Eve band. Go to You Tube and pull some of his original tunes…he Because he’s very talented,” Lucio said.
Lucio said other fundraising events for the Burley family are being planned at the Fortress Tavern, but it is too early to give details and whatever the outcome, “across Chatham It will likely include great live music in the best sound rooms.” Kent. ”
A Face4Radio spokesperson told CK News Today Jessie’s support system is truly amazing and it means a lot that so many people are stepping up to show their love and appreciation for him during this difficult time.
