James Gunn and Peter Safran finally unveiled their masterplan for the DC Universe today, filled with new feature film and HBO Max series announcements. and just missed their self-imposed deadline reveal plans by the end of JanuaryFrom the latest Superman movie to a series of HBO Max TV shows, read on to find out. The first phase of the DCU is called Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters

Gunn and Saffron also revealed that they have plans for eight to 10 years and that the actors will have to sign ten-year contracts for film and television appearances.

The movies and series announced today represent half of the content for Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters. Slated to release on June 16th, The Flash will serve as a reset point for the new DC Universe, paving the way for the storyline slated for Gods and Monsters.

Superman: Legacy announced with 2025 release date

James Gunn is currently writing a feature film, Superman: Legacy, due July 11, 2025. In this film, Clark Kent balances his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing, showing Superman to be a great hero in a morally complex world. I found this film to be his PG-13 and ratings for other projects varied depending on the story. Gunn has yet to decide whether to direct Superman: Legacy.

Supergirl: Women of Tomorrow is an adaptation of the Tom King comic

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is also part of the DCU’s first chapter. The film is based on Tom King’s comic book of the same name, and according to Gunn, we see a much “grisier” Supergirl than we’ve seen before. Because she grew up in pieces, it was a terrifying situation where she saw everyone around her die.

The Brave and the Bold introduces the DCU’s Batman

A new Batman is coming to the DCU via The Brave and the Bold. The film focuses on Damien Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia Al Ghul. This is his father and son story based on Grant Morrison’s comics. You can also expect to meet other members of the Bat Family.

Swamp Thing and The Authority movies announced

Gunn and Saffron have also released a new Swamp Thing movie that explores the character’s darker origins. Little else was disclosed about the project. The last released movie was The Authority, where many of Wildstorm’s characters move into his DCU. Gunn describes it as “a very different kind of superhero story”, starring a group of characters who think the only way to fix a broken world is to take things into their own hands.

Creature Commandos is an animated series written by James Gunn.

Creature Commandos will be the first new show on HBO Max. The animated show, written by James Gunn, is already in production. The show features Rick Flagg Sr., Nina Mazursky, Doctor Phosphorus, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, GI Robot and Weasel.

Gunn and Saffron also showed off Waller, a new series that takes place between Seasons 1 and 2 of Peacemaker. Viola Davis will return as Amanda Waller, and the show will also feature parts of Team Peacemaker.

We also learned about Lantern, the True Detective-like series that follows intergalactic cops Jon Stewart and Hal Jordan. This is the story of a superhero with imposter syndrome who uses futuristic technology to pretend to be a superhero.

Gunn says ‘we’ll see what happens’ on Ezra Miller’s future as The Flash

The upcoming Flash movie is a pivotal turning point for the new DCU, but it’s unclear what will happen as Flash moves forward. Flash star Ezra Miller made headlines throughout 2022 with a slew of legal issues that cast doubt on DC’s future.we heard it recently Some Warner Bros. James Gunn Says Henry Cavill Wasn’t Fired, He Was ‘Just Not Hired’

Despite making a cameo appearance in last year’s Black Adam, Henry Cavill won’t be returning as Superman On DCU’s current roadmap. Speaking about the decision to go a different direction for the character, Gunn said, “It’s important to say that Henry Cavill wasn’t fired. And it wasn’t.”
