Molina On Marvel’s Upset Over “Spider-Man”

We often hear that Marvel actors are afraid to let something slip in an interview for fear that the company will be harsh on them.

Veteran actor Alfred Molina reprise his role as Doc Ock from Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man 2” in last year’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

talk to radio times While promoting Amazon’s new mystery thriller series Three Pines, Molina revealed that her innocent misstep last April led to serious trouble with Marvel.

When asked if he would return for future “Spider-Man” movies, Molina says his new answer is to neither confirm nor deny anything.

“I can’t confirm or deny it. That’s the official line. I just happened to innocently let the cat out of the bag, so the last iteration caused a bit of a problem.”

As it happened, I was talking to a journalist and he said, “What’s going on with the Spider-Man movies?” ‘ And then literally the next day, Variety was like, ‘Alfred Molina Reveals Doc Ok’s Return.’ And I got into trouble like that.

I got a call from Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige was on a red carpet somewhere and someone asked him about a Marvel movie and apparently he got kind of bitter and turned around and said, ‘Ask Alfred Molina. I said. So, I tried soaking in hot water for a while. That’s the official line — I can neither confirm nor deny.

Led by Molina, Three Pines will premiere on Amazon Prime on December 2nd.
