“Bridgerton” star Phoebe Dinever has confirmed that she won’t be returning for the third season.
Dynevor played lead character Daphne Bridgerton in the first season of the hit Netflix series and made a guest appearance in season two.
In a new interview with Screen Rantwhile attending the Sundance Festival, Dynevor said she might be part of a future season, but not next.
“Unfortunately not for Season 3,” said the 27-year-old actor.
Dinevor may not be the first lead actor to leave the world of Bridgerton.
In a separate interview with Variety published earlier this weekDynevor seemed to suggest that her role in the story was complete.
“I did two seasons. I did what I wanted to do with that character. She had a great arc,” she told the publication. So far, I’m really enjoying the new experience and making the film, let’s see what happens.”
Léger-Jean Page plays Daphne’s lover and future husband, Simon Bassett. left the role after the first season and says over and over that he has I have no plans to reprise the role.

Page said the show’s producers told him:
“[I thought] “That’s funny” because it felt like a limited series. I will come in, make my contribution and the Bridgerton family will continue,” he added.
The second season focused on a new main couple, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). Daphne returned with Simon and the child. Page’s characters were conveniently separated.
Season 3 will once again focus on a new couple: Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).
New ‘Bridgerton’ showrunner Jess Brownell told Variety last year Daphne, Anthony, and Kate will all appear next season.
