go to paris fashion week
For a small business operating out of a home studio in West Kelowna, this is a huge honor.
Carolee Finaly I was invited to show off my jewelry during Paris Fashion Week.
“They reached out to us and asked if we were interested, if we wanted to apply,” says Danielle, co-owner of Carolley, who started the company seven years ago with her mother, Donna Shaben. Schoen says.
She says they had to go through a detailed application process.
“Show us some of our work and talk more about our brands. There are hundreds of brands around the world and they all compete for this. The final figure on how many people are in this show is I don’t know, but based on last year, it’s about a few dozen,” Scheven said.
Designs are currently underway for a piece that will appear on the Paris runway in October 2023.
“We can bring in eight collections, so that’s 24 pieces. I will give it to you.
The duo says it’s their target clientele, mostly women over the age of 50, who makes their jewelry stand out.
Donna says not many companies do. “Women over 50 are sometimes not the market people are looking for, so this is a little brave.”
This isn’t the first time Carolee has been in the international spotlight. They were featured in her 2018 New York Fashion Week, and most recently appeared in UK Vanity Fair, UK Glamour, and will be featured in UK Vogue.
The company currently has five employees, and Danielle and Donna say they may need to move to a larger studio space soon.
