Windsor and Essex still have more than 6,000 primary school children who face suspension next month if they don’t update their vaccinations, according to the local health department.

On Thursday, the Windsor Essex County Health Department announced it had sent final notices to 6,654 students whose records show they were not getting the vaccines required by the state’s School Pupil Immunization Act.

Parents of these students must submit proof of current vaccinations to WECHU by March 16th at 6pm. If not submitted, the child will be subject to her 20-day suspension starting March 20th.

The 1990 School Pupil Immunizations Act provides all primary and secondary school children in Ontario with diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, meningococcal disease, pertussis, and chickenpox (2010). years or later).
