(Yellowknife – November 23, 2022) – On World AIDS Day (December 1st), the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) will host a pop-up clinic in Yellowknife where individuals can take a short STI test without an appointment. The clinic is open from 9am to 6pm in the Center Square Mall. All residents are encouraged to come for information, access testing, and to break the stigma of STDs.
Through this event we hope to:
- Raise awareness of sexually transmitted diseases and how to prevent them.
- Raise awareness of the importance of getting tested.
- Reduce stigma about getting tested.

In honor of World AIDS Day, GNWT is offering residents the opportunity to receive STI information and testing on-site at a convenient location without prior appointment. Residents can participate in admission prizes, health information, and confidential her STI testing services from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Healthcare providers and health promoters are on the scene all day to promote sexual health – what it is, why it matters, and why you’re afraid to seek testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections Shouldn’t it? With STI rates rising across the country, including here in the NWT, everyone can participate in protecting themselves and each other by taking a quick and easy test.
