Seaforth Community Hospital is temporarily reducing emergency room hours to address a “sudden medical staffing shortage associated with COVID-19.”
The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) has announced that the ER will be closed overnight starting at 5pm on February 1st.
From February 2nd to February 5th, the emergency department will be open from 7am to 5pm.
Anyone needing urgent medical attention outside of these hours should call 911. Paramedics will transport the patient to the nearest hospital in Exeter, Godrich or Stratford.
Regular ER hours are scheduled to resume on February 6th.
Over the weekend, the HPHA declared an outbreak of COVID-19 in the inpatient wards of Seaforth Community Hospital and Clinton Public Hospital.
Clinton’s emergency department is now open from 8am to 6pm.
