Since its founding, the Trottier Institute for Exoplanet Research has charitable donation, mainly Trottier Family FoundationOur other major donors are Mr Philip Shureau, Mr. Jean-Francois BertrandWhen Mr. Sylvain LumbrosoWe are grateful to all the incredible donors in all planetary systems near and far! Without their support and vision allow us to learn a little more about the universe every day. It will be impossible to continue the research.
iREx has been very successful in raising research funding for the development of major scientific infrastructures, among them: Canadian Innovation Foundation (CFI) $1.6 million over four years to develop SPIRou and NIRPS Canadian Space Agency (CSA) for scientific support of the Webb mission, and CSA provided $1 million for the feasibility study of a nano-satellite (POET) dedicated to studying exoplanetary atmospheres. This funding covers part of the salaries of some of his iREx members.
It also receives government funding for education and outreach projects. Fonds de recherche du Québec In 2020, (FRQ) has already amassed over 100,000 views and received a $63,000 grant from NovaScience for ExoBites, a video series project about exoplanets. Ministry of Innovation and Economy In 2021, (MEI) joined a project aimed at helping elementary and middle school teachers better integrate exoplanets and astronomy into classrooms and state education programs.
