Lulu Cheng Meservey, Executive Vice President and CCO of Corporate Affairs, took to Twitter to address “speculation” about ongoing antitrust investigations currently being conducted by various global regulators.
“There is a lot of speculation about Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard,” she said.
“Any suggestion that this deal could have anti-competitive effects is ludicrous.
“This merger will benefit gamers and the U.S. gaming industry, especially as we face increased international competition.
“We are committed to working with regulators around the world to advance the deal, but will not hesitate to fight to defend the deal if necessary.”
The antitrust lawsuit means Microsoft will have to fight in US courts to proceed with its acquisition of the Call of Duty maker.
