A Brazilian food delivery app may have exploited a bug in Apple Maps.
Brazilian journalist Rodrigo Ghedin reports that iFood, Brazil’s largest food delivery app, accessed the location of one of his readers. In his blog post, Ghedin wrote that denying readers access to the app didn’t help.
according to 9to5Mac, Apple fixed a bug in iOS 16.3 and added two-factor authentication sign-in to new devices as a “headline feature.” A security patch fix addresses the app’s ability to bypass privacy settings.
Ghedin says readers fixed the problem after resetting the device. He downloaded his iOS 16.3 when it became available, and since Ghedin wrote in his January 31st post, he hasn’t noticed any issues.
