(Bloomberg) — Electronic Arts has canceled games based on the popular Apex Legends and Titanfall franchises, according to three people familiar with the matter. On Tuesday, EA, one of his publishers of the world’s biggest video games, gave a disappointing outlook on its earnings this quarter. The company said it canceled the Apex Legends mobile game and his version of Battlefield on mobile, and closed the studio behind it, Industrial Toys. EA has also delayed the highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, another title in development at Respawn. Management has informed the unnamed team of about 50 people that EA will try to find positions for them within the company. It is said that they will be given money and fired. An EA spokeswoman declined to comment.

The canceled project, codenamed TFL or Titanfall Legends, was a single-player game set in a universe shared by Apex Legends and Titanfall games. Veteran designer Mohammad Alavi served as director until his retirement in early 2022.

Fans have been clamoring for a new single-player entry in the acclaimed Titanfall series for years. His latest entry, Titanfall 2, came out in 2016 to critical acclaim. His third game planned will be his Apex Legends, a battle royale multiplayer title set in the same universe that has become one of his most successful games at EA and earned over $2 billion. It has been changed. One of EA’s most prolific video game developers, Respawn continues to update Apex Legends and is also working on multiple Star Wars games in addition to Jedi: Survivor.
