Google Messages, the messaging service of American tech giant Google, is currently testing the ability to react to messages using emojis.

According to GSM Arena, previously reactions were limited to seven emojis. This news comes after 9to5Google confirmed the feature by enabling it in previous versions.

Users can now tap and hold incoming messages in the Google Messages app to react with their favorite emoji. A new icon in the emoji picker gives you the option to add a new unlisted emoji.

Users can tap the emoji in the corner of the message they responded to and see this emoji next to the name of the recipient they responded to.

When you view reactions from a group message, you’ll see a pop-up prompt with all the names and emojis you’ve reacted to.This feature is currently only available from the latest Google Messages beta release

According to GSM Arena, Google continues to improve the Google Messages experience following the failure of the #GetTheMessage campaign, highlighting Apple’s lack of RCS support and a new app icon update.
