He died at Sioux Area Hospital on Sunday, January 29, 2023, with his wife, Dorothy McKay (née Brooks), at the age of 89. Husband of the late Angela McCaig.
Loving father of James, John, Alex, Joyce Swanson, Joan Tregonning and Stepfather of Stephen Tregonning. Donald had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who loved him dearly.
He is the son of the late Ernest and Marjorie (formerly Shuttleworth) McKay. He is the brother of the late Eleanor and the late Bruce. Brother-in-law of the late Jim Brooks, the late Robert Brooks, the late Tom Brooks, the late Ted Brooks, the late Henry McCaig, and the late Alfred McCaig. Donald is survived by his stepbrothers Terry Brooks, Richard Brooks, Bill Brooks, Jack McCaig, Cleve McCaig and Raymond McCaig.
Donald was loved by many nieces and nephews.
At Donald’s request, a cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Instead of flowers, families will appreciate donations to the United Church or ARCH.
