A vehicle collided with a train in the early hours of Sunday morning, injuring two occupants but not life-threateningly.

A “complicated rescue process” was required, resulting in both occupants being removed from the crumpled vehicle.

Both were taken to hospital by paramedics, but were not considered life-threatening and were considered stable.

The incident occurred at the end of LaSalle Boulevard, past Foundry Street.

Sudbury Professional Fire Fighters wrote on their Facebook page on Wednesday:

“You can also find some safety tips from our friends at CN and CP Rail included below.”

Firefighters took this opportunity to share tips and notes on railway safety. For example, it takes him 2 kilometers for the average train to stop, it seems to be moving much slower than it actually is, and the train can arrive at any time.
