British volunteers Chris Parry and Andrew Bagshaw died during a humanitarian evacuation mission in the eastern Ukraine town of Soledar, according to a statement by the Parry family released on Tuesday by the UK Foreign Office. I had dual citizenship.
A statement from the Parry family said: “It is with great sadness that we must announce that our beloved Chrissy was murdered along with her colleague Andrew Bagshaw while attempting a humanitarian evacuation from Soledar in eastern Ukraine. “His dedicated determination to help the old, young and disadvantaged makes us and his larger family extremely proud.”
“I never imagined that I would be saying goodbye to Chris. Chris’ life has been so fulfilling. He is a caring son, a wonderful brother and a best friend to many.” was a loving partner for Olga.”
“He was drawn to Ukraine in the darkest time of the Russian invasion in March, helping the most needy, saving over 400 lives and many abandoned animals. How much I miss him.” It’s impossible to put into words, but he will be in our hearts forever.”
“We are so honored that he chose our family to be a part of it,” said a statement signed by family members Rob, Kristin and Katy Parry.
The UK Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth and Development Department is requesting family privacy at this time.

On January 9, Ukrainian police reported they were searching for Bagshaw and Parry. Ukrainian police said two Britons “left Kramatorsk for Soledar” and were the scene of recent heavy fighting, and “contact with them was lost,” CNN previously reported.
